London is one of the largest cities in Europe and is divided into six public transport zones. Depending on your preferences and budget you can choose which zone you want to stay in.

Zone 1
Central London, the closest to the city centre and all the main attractions. A great choice for students who want to be at the heart of the bustle and don’t mind paying a bit more for their accommodation.

What to see: The Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace and much more. It’s where the main action takes place!

Zone 2
The ring around the City where you can be in the centre in a fairly short time. The perfect option for those who still want to feel very much part of the buzz of London while saving up a tad on their accommodation.

What to see: Abbey Road and Camden Town if you want to stay on the hip side, Notting Hill and Portobello Market for a romantic atmosphere.

Zone 3
Farther away from the centre, this zone offers the best of both worlds: it is a little more cheaper than Zone 2 but still reasonably near to the city centre. The ideal solution for those looking for more spacious and affordable host family homes.

What to see: Here you can experience the scents of the Kew Gardens or take a look at the stars at Greenwich.

Zone 4
A more outlying district that provides you with the best of city and country life for a genuine London experience. With fast trains to all London mainline stations, it is the best option for students looking for great value for money and quiet surroundings.

What to see: In this area you have the possibility to visit the Royal Air Force Museum or the Wembley Stadium, one of the most famous sport arenas in the whole world.

Student Feedback

I've been 5 weeks in London at one of the Homestays provided by HFS London and I'm more than happy! The hosts are amazing and quite respectful, they've tried their best to make me feel like I'm at home everyday. The house itself is ok (I wasn't obviosly expecting a 5 star hotel) and the transportation connection is bearable (12 minutes walking until next tube station). The zone is kinda tricky... but it was my choice at the end of the day, so no complaints with HFS about it.

I had the chance to be in a really good and welcoming host family: they were really nice, kind and friendly with me, the food was amazing, my room was clean and perfect. I am now very attached to them. I've never had experience with a host family, and I was afraid, but my family was perfect, they managed to put me confortable and it was seriously perfect. I thank them again for their welcome, their kindness, and their delicious dishes.

HFS provided me an awesome experience in London. My homestay had a perfect location and was pretty clean! My host is an amazing people, very kind and worried about my needs. We always had dinner together and we could talk a lot about our daily life. I enjoyed everything! The food was incredible and my room very comfortable, with all the things that i needed there at hand. London is a huge city, but the safeness that I found there at my accommodation and in my neighborhood as well made me feel at home.
