After a long hot summer, it is finally time to put some layers on and enjoy London in the autumn. Some say that the Autumn period is probably the best time to visit the capital city as tourism is low, the sun is still shining and there are still plenty of events and activities happening in the city. Here are some things that you must make sure to visit during your stay:

1. BFI London Film Festival

Calling all film lovers out there! From the 10th to the 21st of October London is hosting it’s annual international film festival with screenings of over 300 films from 50+ countries. Whether you want to watch a film in English or in your mother tongue, you are bound to find something here.

2. HarvestFest at Skylight

HarvestFest will take place at east London’s Skylight till the end of October. If you love a chic rooftop, street food, lawn games and movies, this is the place to be. There will also be blankets and heaters to keep you warm as the sun goes down!

3. Halloween in London

Halloween London is to be celebrated whether you are a small child or a fully grown adult, there are always fun things to do and no, this does not only involve trick or treating! Discover the dark secrets and gory history of London with The Ghost Bus Tours or a Tales of Plague guided walk. Or you can retrace the infamous murderer’s footsteps with Jack the Ripper Ghost Walks.

4. Fireworks on Guy Fawkes Night

This is an exceptionally fun and free event to do around London. Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Day, Bonfire Night and Firework Night, is an annual commemoration observed on the 5th of November, primarily in the United Kingdom. Head to Primrose Hill in Camden or Alexandra Palace to catch the best events and views.

5. Museums at Night

Museums at Night is the UK-wide festival of Lates in museums and galleries. In London, you’ll have the chance to visit the Science Museum, The Chocolate Museum as well as the National Army Museum. The next festival is taking place from Thursday 25 – Saturday 27 October 2018.
